Mariah Carey - 44 x 39, mixed media $15,000

Welcome back my faithful art collectors and enthusiast, It’s been over a year since I mentioned the starting of the Mariah Carey Painting.

Well it’s here! I completed it. In the video I also mention that I was taping the painting from the start until I finish. Well sometime thing just don’t work out like you want, instead I photographed the entire project. So that you can see how I put this master piece together.

This painting is measured 44 x 39 with the frame 49 x 44 mixed mediums, it’s textured in many areas, only noticeable very close but I like it, it gives the original look of the painting.

I will describe some of the scenes. The bed is a $70,000 gold leave poster bed, the bedding is from my aunt bed. The book case is plexiglas found at an contemporary furniture store .on the book shelf there are some items from my home and a picture of Nick and Mariah’s wedding. The rug is from my dinning room. There’s a fireplace, pink slippers and a violet color antique chair in the bed room. The back ground has the California seen of the night with stars the moon and palm trees which make this piece romantic, just what Mariah likes.

FYI: I took the painting outdoors and to my amazement the sun hit it and what I saw was the most beautiful colors, the painting just lights up.

Artist Prince Whiting III captures Osama Bin Laden on oil on canvas.

World renowned artist Prince Whiting III captures Osama Bin Laden on a beautiful 40 x 28, oil on canvas portrait. Prince Whiting, III was born in 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee and has been painting and sketching since the age of nine. He covers a wide range of subjects from celebrities and mythology to Renaissance style paintings.

Prince Whiting II, known as the “paparazzi artist,AND THE NEW MASTER” paints portraits of famous people. The painting of Osama Bin Laden is very unique, see the action and the movement in the painting, the butterflies, see the rare lizard, the wild poppy plants on the side of the road, the Himalaya Mountains in the background with snow caps, and Bin Laden’s falcon, as he rides across the Afghanistan and Pakistan borders.

The inspiration for the Bin Laden painting emanated from a cable news report of Bin Laden on horseback.

Prince says he is first and foremost a Christian artist who attributes his success to the inspiration and leading of the Holy Sprit. In an interview with Mr. Whiting he explained that “The Holy Spirit inspired me to paint Osama Bin Laden mounted on this horse; because of the rich inspiration, I could see the finished product.”

Prince further noted that, “Mr. Bin Laden intrigues me. This mystical man, is like dust in the wind, you know he’s out there, but where?” Will he be a legend?

Is he still alive?  Or will he be captured? Only Bin Laden’s secret confidants know his actual locations as he moves from place to place.”

Who is Bin Laden?
Osama Bin Laden was born March 10, 1967 in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. His father was born poor, but became very wealthy as a building contractor. Bin Laden has been legendary; he is known to be generous and soft spoken.  He has been known to have strong self control and is a much disciplined man, who fasts quite often.

He attended the elite Al-Charger model school studying economic and business administration.

It is said he earned a degree in Civil Engineering in 1979 and a degree in Public Administration. People around him say he is a hard working individual but he was more interested in religion and his great collection of falcons for sport hunting.

This painting was done in the Rembrandt style, with rich blacks and browns that separate the figures,  I prefer to paint real life subjects like the old masters did.

Tiger Woods, the world’s greatest golfer paused between shots to autograph a portrait of himself painted by San Diego artist Prince Whiting , III at the recent Mercedes Golf Championship held at the La Costa Resort and Spa. Whiting painted “The Master” shortly after Wood’s unprecedented victory at the Master’s Golf Tournament last March.

“It was truly a pleasure to finally meet this international hero,” says Whiting. Tiger Woods was voted number one athlete of the year by Associated Press. Whiting says he was inspired to paint Mr. Woods after he broke four records in 1997 Masters Golf Tournament. He became the youngest and first black player ever to play and win the Masters. It was the most watched game of golf ever.
