Tiger Woods takes time out to sign The Master, a portrait of Tiger Woods by Prince Whiting III.
Tiger Woods, the world’s greatest golfer paused between shots to autograph a portrait of himself painted by San Diego artist Prince Whiting , III at the recent Mercedes Golf Championship held at the La Costa Resort and Spa. Whiting painted “The Master” shortly after Wood’s unprecedented victory at the Master’s Golf Tournament last March.
“I was inspired to paint Tiger after he won his first Masters tournament Championship in 1997.”
“It was truly a pleasure to finally meet this international hero,” says Whiting. Tiger Woods was voted number one athlete of the year by Associated Press. Whitting says he was inspired to paint Mr. Woods after he broke four records in 1997 Masters Golf Tournament. He became the youngest and first black player ever to play and win the Masters. It was the most watched game of golf ever.
